Volunteer Opportunities
Get Involved … Volunteer to Make a Difference!

Volunteers play a central role in the life and growth of a nonprofit organization. With volunteers, costs can be contained, extra services provided, funds raised, the marketing message communicated to a wider audience, and future board leadership developed. Without volunteer participation in all aspects of the organization, our jobs become more difficult, costs go up, and the nonprofit runs the risk of becoming insular and not responsive to the needs of the constituents they are dedicated to help.

Corporate Volunteer Opportunities – Our House Learning Center has worked with several local companies and service organizations to provide group volunteer opportunities for health and career fairs, holiday activities and parties, and campus improvement projects. We would love to work with your organization and create a volunteer project that will uniquely meet our mutual interests.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities – Opportunities are available for individuals who would like to offer their time and talents to a special school. Contact Linda Sanders, and we will match your wishes and our needs to make a difference in the life of a “special” individual. To become a regular volunteer who has on-going contact with students, a finger print screening and tuberculosis test is required by the California Department of Education.

Contributions

Our House Learning Center welcomes your contributions to support our mission to give special-needs students a chance to learn and become contributing members of society.

We are most grateful for your contributions given to the Center at any time during the year. Your monetary contribution is tax deductible, and a letter recognizing your contribution will be sent to you so you can use it for tax purposes. Make an on-line contribution to Our House Learning Center now with our Pay Pal gift page.

Tribute gifts are an excellent way to honor or memorialize someone special. Recognize a loved one or best friend on a birthday, anniversary, holiday, or a day special to that individual.  Switzer Learning Center recognizes tribute gifts by sending a letter to the honoree or their representative, and in regular communications with donors and constituents.  Click here to make an on-line tribute gift to Our House Learning Center on our Pay Pal gift page.

Bequests and planned gifts are excellent means of making a difference after you are gone. Many of us fail to write a will, and our estates, whether modest or substantial, are then administered by the state. Without a will, your interests and the interests of your family and the charities you support will not be honored, and your assets are at risk for being taken over by the state. If you would like a referral to an estate planner, contact Linda Sanders for the names of attorneys and estate planning experts who have worked with Our House Learning Center in the past.

Stock, IRA, or investment transfers to Our House Learning Center may be a way of contributing to the Center without impacting your cash on hand.  Contact Linda Sanders for a referral to a wealth planner who can assist you with a transfer of stock to the Center.

Project or event sponsorships are a unique way of supporting Our House Learning Center. Companies or individuals may select from two types of sponsorships. The first type of sponsorship is for a particular activity or project that is presented by the Center. The second type of sponsorship is an annual Center sponsorship supporting Our House programs, events, and students. Center Sponsors will be recognized in all Our House Learning Center communication for one year, and Event Sponsors will be recognized in the communication for that event. Contact Linda Sanders or Dominica Hershberger to discuss your interest in sponsoring a project or event. Click here to make an on-line contribution on Our House Learning Center’s  Pay Pal gift page.
